Nuweiba is another resort on the Gulf of Aqaba that is just 8 kilometres north of Dahab. Nuweiba, which means "bubbling springs" in Arabic has three main areas; Nuweiba Muzayna, Nuweiba Tarabeen and the central town. Few years ago Nuweiba was known as a barren isolated place with no infrastructure, nowadays it developed into an attractive touristi destination and is expected to gain further recognition in the near future. Known as the "Pearl of the Gulf of Aqaba", Nuweiba is becoming increasing popular with visitors for its diverse marine species, spectacular mountains bordering the seashore, and its secluded stretches of beaches.
